Transfer Oil Seal Replacement





TRANSFER OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

1. Remove the transfer. Service and Repair

2. Place the transfer on a rack or plate to keep it stable.






3. Using the SST, remove the deflector.






4. Insert a tapping screw into the groove of the oil seal.

5. Using a fastener remover, pry the screw down to remove the oil seal.






6. Using the SST, press the new oil seal into the transfer until it seats.






7. Warm up the outer side surface of the new deflector using a hot air blower at 250 °C {450 °F} for 30 s.

WARNING:
- Wear gloves when handling the deflector as it may be hot. Otherwise, it could cause severe burns or serious injury.

8. Within 10 s after warming up the new deflector, install it using the SST.






9. Install the transfer. Service and Repair

10. Inspect for leakage of transfer oil.
