Differential Gear O-Ring Replacement

DIFFERENTIAL GEAR O-RING REPLACEMENT [AY6A-EL, AY6AX-EL]

2WD

1. Remove the front splash shield. Service and Repair

2. Disconnect the drive shaft (LH) from the transaxle. Front Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

3. Disconnect the drive shaft (RH) from the joint shaft. Front Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

4. Remove the joint shaft. Joint Shaft Removal/Installation

5. Remove and discard the O-rings using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver.






CAUTION:
- Do not damage the differential case.

6. Apply ATF to the new O-rings and install it to the differential case.

- Do not damage the O-rings.
- Do not damage the differential case.

7. Install the joint shaft. Joint Shaft Removal/Installation

8. Install the drive shaft (RH) to the joint shaft. Front Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

9. Install the drive shaft (LH) to the transaxle. Front Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

10. Install the front splash shield. Service and Repair

AWD

1. Remove the splash shield (LH). Service and Repair

2. Disconnect the drive shaft (LH) from the transaxle. Front Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

3. Remove and discard the O-rings using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver.






CAUTION:
- Do not damage the differential case.

4. Apply ATF to the new O-rings and install it to the differential case.

5. Install the drive shaft (LH) to the transaxle. Front Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

6. Install the front splash shield (LH). Service and Repair
