Fluid - Transfer Case: Testing and Inspection

TRANSFER OIL INSPECTION

1. Park the vehicle on level ground.

2. Remove the filler plug.






3. Verify that the oil is near the brim of the filler plug hole.

- If the oil level is low, add the specified type of oil through the filler plug hole until the level reaches the brim of the filler plug hole.

Transfer oil
- Grade: API service GL-5
- Viscosity: SAE 75W-140

4. Apply sealant to the filler plug.

5. Tighten the filler plug before the applied sealant starts to harden.

Tightening torque
- 17-24 Nm {1.8-2.4 kgf-m, 13-17 ft-lbf}

6. Inspect for oil leakage.
