Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair





POWER BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
- Once the brake switch clearance has automatically been adjusted, it cannot be adjusted again. Therefore, replace the switch with a new one when replacing the power brake unit or performing any procedure that changes the pedal stroke.

1. Remove the battery and battery tray. Removal and Replacement

2. Remove the resonance chamber. Service and Repair

3. Remove the windshield wiper arm and blade. Windshield Wiper Arm And Blade Removal/Installation

4. Remove the cowl grill. Cowl Grille Removal/Installation

5. Remove the windshield wiper motor. Windshield Wiper Motor Removal/Installation

6. Remove the cowl panel. Cowl Panel Removal/Installation

7. Remove the master cylinder component. Service and Repair

8. Remove the nuts as shown in the figure, and move the front heater pipe.






9. Remove the brake pipe (DSC/RSC HU/CM-master cylinder). Service and Repair.

10. Disconnect the brake pipe (DSC/RSC HU/CM side) as shown in the figure.






11. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

12. Remove the brake switch. Service and Repair

13. Install in the reverse order of removal.

14. After installation, add brake fluid, bleed the air, and inspect for fluid leakage. Air Bleeding

15. Inspect the brake pedal. Testing and Inspection
