Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

MANUAL TRANSAXLE AND CLUTCH

Inspection and Verification

NOTE:The vehicle should be road tested, if possible, to verify the customer concern. Some clutch conditions may be attributed to a misadjusted clutch pedal height, linkage, or shift mechanism. These should be checked and corrected prior to attempting major disassembly procedures. Check that the transaxle is filled to the correct level with the specified lubricant.
1. Verify the customer concern.

2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical damage.

3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.

4. If the cause is not visually evident, verify the symptom. See - Clutch Operation.
