SUBJECT: DRONE / MOAN OR RATTLE NOISE AT 28-38 MPH (45-67 KM/H) AND 1300-1400 RPM

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2009-2011 Tribute 2.5L vehicles with automatic transmission

DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit a drone/moan or rattle noise. The noise typically occurs while:

^driving up a slight incline

^ under light throttle

^ at 28-38 MPH (45-61 Km/h)

^ at 1300-1400 RPM

^ in 5th gear

Torsional engine pulses may cause front end accessory drive (FEAD) resonation. The noise may be present with the A/C on or off but is typically aggravated when the A/C compressor cycles on.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer concern.

2. Install Alternator Pulley Kit. Refer to instruction CONDITION sheet provided with the kit.

3. Verify repair.
