A/T - MIL ON/DTC P2757/ATF Leak/A/T Warning Light ON

Subject: MIL ON WITH DTC P2757, A/T WARNING LIGHT ON, AND ATF FLUID LEAK
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2007-2011 CX-9 vehicles
with VINS lower than JM3******TB 237766 (produced before August 20, 2010)
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit all of the following:
^ Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on.
^ Automatic Transmission (A/T) warning light on.
^ Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2757 (TCC control solenoid circuit performance or stuck off) stored in the Transmission Control Module (TCM) memory.
^ Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) leak between the engine and the A/T bell housing.
NOTE:
When DTC P2757 is stored, the TCM will shift into fail-safe mode and limit Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) slip control. A noticeable shift shock or improper shift may occur.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify all of the following conditions:
a. MIL on
b. A/T warning light on
c. DTC P2757 is stored in memory
d. ATF leak between the engine and the A/T bell housing
2. Do all of the conditions in step 1 apply?
^ Yes - Proceed to Step 3.
^ No - This bulletin does not apply. Proceed to MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 05-03 SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING ITEM TABLE [AY6A-EL, AY6AX-EL]).
3. Replace the A/T assembly according to MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 05-17 AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AY6A-EL, AY6AX-EL]).
NOTE:
Automatic transaxle replacement requires Major Assembly Service Hotline (MASH) authorization prior to repairs. Contact MASH, to obtain authorization.
4. Perform Automatic Transaxle cooler and lines flushing procedure. Refer to TSB 05-008/11.
5. Verify P2757 is not stored in TCM memory after the replacement of the transaxle assembly. Is DTC P2757 stored in TCM memory after A/T replacement?
^ No - Repair is complete.
^ Yes - Replace TCM. Refer to MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 05-17 TCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AY6A-EL, AY6AX-EL]).
NOTE:
TCM replacement requires Major Assembly Service Hotline (MASH) authorization prior to repairs. Contact MASH to obtain authorization.
6. Verify repair.

^ This warranty information applies only to verified customer complaints on vehicles eligible for warranty repair.
^ This repair will be covered under Mazda's Powertrain Warranty term.
^ Automatic transaxle and TCM replacement requires MASH authorization prior to repairs. Contact MASH to obtain prior authorization.
^ Additional diagnostic time cannot be claimed for this repair.
NOTE:
^ A/T cooler and lines flushing time is included in labor hour shown above.
^ If TCM replacement is necessary, submit a separate Warranty Claim Problem for the replacement of the TCM. Use EPC for TCM part number and use Warranty Wizard for labor operation and labor hours.
