Front Seat Side Cover Removal/Installation




FRONT SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNING:
- Handling the front seats improperly can accidentally deploy the side air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the front seats. (See Air Bag System Service Warnings) (See Air Bag System Service Cautions)

CAUTION:
- After removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. If the slider lever is operated, the left and right slide positions will deviate, and the slide adjuster may be damaged after the front seat is installed.
- Verify that there are no malfunctions in the sliding mechanism after installing a front seat.
- When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean rag so as not to damage or soil the seat.

Front Door side

Vehicles with power seat system

1. Switch the ignition to off.

2. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement

3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more.

4. Remove the front seat. Front Seat Removal/Installation

5. Pull the power seat switch knobs in the direction of arrow, while remove the hooks.






6. Pull the front seat side cover in the direction of arrow (1), shown in the figure to disengage the hooks and clips.






7. Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (2), (3) shown in the figure to disengage the hook and tab.






8. Pull the front seat side cover in the direction of arrow (4) shown in the figure to disengage the hooks.






9. Remove the front seat side cover.

10. Disconnect the seat position memory switch connector. (Vehicles with position memory control system)

11. Disconnect the power seat switch connector. (Vehicles with power seat)

12. Disconnect the lumbar support switch connector. (Vehicles with power lumbar support)

13. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Vehicles without power seat system

1. Remove the outer lift lever cover in the direction of arrow (1), (2) shown in the figure to disengage the tab and hook.






2. Remove the snap ring.






3. Operate the lift lever in the direction of arrow (3) shown in the figure.






4. Using a flathead screwdriver, hold the spring and return the lift lever a bit to pull it up in the order of (4), (5) shown in the figure.

5. After operating the recliner knob in the upward direction (6), cut the area indicated in the figure, then remove the recliner knob in the direction of arrow (7).






6. Remove the screw.






7. Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (8), (9) shown in the figure to disengage the hook and tab.






8. Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (10), (11) shown in the figure to disengage the hooks and tab.






9. Remove the front seat side cover.

10. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Power Seat Switch Wiring Harness Removal Note

1. Remove the power seat switch wiring harness from the hook A and B.





CAUTION:
- The power seat switch wiring harness is clamped at the hook A, B and the marks by the green tape on the power seat switch wiring harness. While actual work, the harness is as blind location but you can move the power seat switch wiring harness from the hook A,B easily by pulling to backward.

Power Seat Switch Wiring Harness Installation Note

1. After installing the front seat side cover, install the power seat switch wiring harness to hooks A and B and the marks by the green tape on the power seat switch wiring harness shown in the figure.





WARNING:
- After installing the front seat side cover, install the power seat switch wiring harness to hooks A and B securely. If the wiring harness is caught between the frame, the wiring harness insulation could be damaged which could cause the power seat to operate incorrectly and result in an accident.

Console side

Vehicles with power seat system

1. Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (1), (2), (3) shown in the figure to disengage the hooks and clips.






2. Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (4), (5) shown in the figure to disengage the hook and tab.






3. Pull the front seat side cover in the direction of arrow (6) shown in the figure to disengage the hooks.






4. Remove the front seat side cover.

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Console side

Vehicles without power seat system

1. Remove the screw.






2. Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (1), (2) shown in the figure to disengage the hook and tab.






3. Pull the front seat side cover in the direction of arrow (3) shown in the figure to disengage the hooks.






4. Remove the front seat side cover.

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
