Disassembly and Assembly
ROTARY BLADE COUPLING DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLYDisassembly
1. Using the special tool, remove the pinion nut.
Note:
^ A small punch that can be inserted between the end yoke spline and pinion gear is required.
2. Using a punch, mark one of the splines on the yoke.
3. Mark the corresponding spline on the pinion gear.
^ Remove the yoke.
4. Remove the clutch assembly from the housing.
5. Remove the four bolts and the clutch shaft.
^ Inspect the clutch shaft and replace as required
6. Remove the snap ring.
7. Using a brass drift and hammer, drive the bearing out of the housing.
^ Discard bearing.
Assembly
1. Using a bearing driver and handle, install the bearing into the housing.
2. Install the snap ring.
3. Using the special tool, install the seal.
^ Make sure the seal flange is in contact with the housing.
4. Install the clutch shaft and the four bolts.
5. Install the clutch assembly into the housing.
Note:
^ Make sure the marks are aligned on the pinion gear and yoke.
6. Install the yoke and nut.
^ Use the special tool to hold the yoke while tightening the nut.
