AUDIO UNIT

Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the battery cables. For additional information, refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT.




2. Remove the bezel end covers from both sides of the radio face.

NOTE: All audio unit removal and installation procedures are similar.

NOTE: Remove the bezel end covers before inserting the special tools.




3. Remove the audio unit.
1. Insert the special tool into the radio face plate and release the radio retaining clips.
2. Pull outward on the special tool and remove the audio unit from the instrument panel.

4. Disconnect the connectors.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Modular Audio - Upper Module Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the battery cables. For additional information, refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT.
2. Remove the audio unit. For additional information, refer to the procedure in this section.




3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Upper Module Removal Note




a. Insert a screwdriver into the hole stamped mark.
b. To remove, lift the upper module by pushing down the screwdriver's handle

Cover Removal Note




a. Insert a tape-wrapped screwdriver between the cover and the base unit, then unlatch hook A.
b. To unlatch hook B, pull the cover upward.

Screw Installation Note

CAUTION: If an undesigned screw is used, the inside of the upper module could be damaged. When installing the module, be sure to use a designated screw (red).

Modular Audio - Lower Module Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the battery cables. For additional information, refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT.
2. Remove the audio unit. For additional information, refer to the procedure in this section.




3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Cover Removal Note




a. Insert the SST into the service holes on the bottom surface of the lower module.
b. To remove the cover, push the SST in the direction shown by the arrow.

Screw Installation Note

CAUTION: If an undesigned screw is used, the inside of the upper module could be damaged. When installing the module, be sure to use a designated screw (red)
