Axle Housing Bushing

AXLE HOUSING BUSHING REMOVAL / INSTALLATION

Removal Note

Note:
^ Axle tube bushing removal shown, axle housing bushing is a similar procedure.

1. Remove the front axle assembly.





2. Position the tube bushing removal or equivalent tools.
(1) Position Bushing Remover/Replacer Cup SST 205-371 (T96T-5638-E) or equivalent.
(2) Position Drawbolt SST 205-374 (T96T-5638-H) or equivalent.
(3) Thread the Bushing Remover Adapter SST 205-376 (T96T-5638-K) on the Drawbolt SST.





3. Tighten the Drawbolt SST to remove the bushing.

Installation Note

1. Position the bushing and the tube bushing installation or equivalent tools.
(1) Position the bushing.
(2) Position Gauge Ring SST 204-206 (T96T-5638-D).
(3) Position Bushing Replacer Collet SST 205-372 (T96T-5638-F).
(4) Position Bushing Remover/Replacer Cup SST 205-371 (T96T-538-E).
(5) Position Drawbolt SST 205-374 (T96T-5638-H).
(6) Thread Bushing Replacer Adapter SST 205-370 (T96T-5638-B) on the Drawbolt SST.
2. Tighten the Drawbolt SST to install the bushing.
(1) Remove the tools.
3. Install the front axle assembly.
4. Check the fluid level and fill the axle to specification.
^ Use axle lubricant meeting specification API
5. Lower the vehicle.
