FLEXPLATE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION-4.0L

Removal





1. Remove the transmission.
2. Remove the bolts and the flywheel.
3. Clean and inspect the flywheel.

Installation





Note:
^ Special bolts are used for flywheel installation; do not use standard bolts.

1. Install the flywheel.
^ Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages.
^ Stage 1: Tighten the bolts to 13 Nm (1.3 kgf-cm, 10 ft. lbs.}.
^ Stage 2: Tighten the bolts to 71 Nm {7.1 kgf-cm, 52 ft. lbs.}.
2. Install the transmission.
