Flex Plate: Service and Repair

FLEXPLATE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION-3.0L

Removal
1. Remove the transmission.





2. Remove the bolts and the flexplate.
^ Inspect the flexplate for cracks or other damage. Install a new flexplate if necessary.

Installation

Note:
^ Special bolts are used for installation; do not use standard bolts.





1. Position the flexplate on the crankshaft and install the bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern.
2. Install the transmission.
