Truck Bed: Service and Repair
PICKUP BED REMOVAL/INSTALLATION1. Remove the tailgate.
2. Disconnect the rear lamp wiring harness electrical connector.
NOTE: Mark the position of the fuel tiller cap tether for proper installation.
3. Remove the fuel filler cap.
4. Remove the fuel filler neck screws.
CAUTION: Use care not to scratch the pickup bed.
NOTE: Label the pickup bed bolts because they are not identical and must be installed in the same location that they are removed from.
5. Remove the pickup bed bolts.
CAUTION:
- Use body decking protectors over the front corners of the pickup bed to prevent scratches.
- Lifting the pickup bed requires at least two people on each side.
6. Remove the pickup bed.
7. Inspect the J-nuts for damage. Replace the J-nuts if they are damaged.
8. Install in reverse order of removal.
