Removal and Installation
POWER TAKE OFF UNIT-3.0L DURATEC (4V)Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the driveshaft.
3. Remove the four bolts and the crossmember brace.
4. Remove the generator.
5. Disconnect the RH catalyst monitor.
6. Remove and discard the two nuts and separate the flexible Y-pipe from the manifold.
7. Remove and discard the nuts.
- Discard the gasket.
8. Remove and discard the nuts.
- Discard the gasket.
9. Remove the flexible pipe.
- Disconnect the hanger.
10. Remove the RH exhaust manifold.
11. Remove the bracket.
1. Remove the five bolts.
2. Loosen the bolt.
3. Remove the bracket.
12. Remove the three bolts.
Caution: A new Power Take Off (PTO) unit driven gear seal must be installed anytime the Power Take Off (PTO) unit is removed.
13. Remove the bolt and the Power Take Off (PTO) unit.
Installation
Caution: A new Power Take Off (PTO) unit driven gear seal must be installed any time the Power Take Off (PTO) unit is removed.
Note: If necessary, replace the RH differential fluid seal.
1. Install the Power Take Off (PTO) unit.
1. Install the bolts.
2. Install the bolt.
3. Install the bracket and the six bolts.
4. Install the RH exhaust manifold.
5. Install the flex pipe and connect the hanger.
6. Install the gasket and the nuts.
7. Install the gasket and the nuts.
8. Connect the flexible Y-pipe to the exhaust manifold and install the two nuts.
9. Connect the RH catalyst monitor sensor.
10. Install the generator.
11. Install the crossmember brace and the four bolts.
12. Check the Power Take Off (PTO) unit fluid level
13. Install the driveshaft.
14. Connect the battery ground cable.
15. Check the transaxle fluid level.
