EGR Valve: Service and Repair

EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION




1. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.
- Disconnect the vacuum line.
- Disconnect the EGR valve tube fitting.




2. Remove the EGR valve bolts and the EGR valve.
- Discard the gasket.

NOTE: The EGR valve sealing surfaces are soft metal.

NOTE: Use a new gasket when installing the EGR valve.

3. Install in reverse order of removal.
- Carefully clean the EGR valve sealing surfaces.
- Install a new EGR valve gasket.
