Fluid - Differential: Service and Repair

AXLE / DIFFERENTIAL DRAIN AND REFILL
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove the differential fill plug.
3. Remove the axle lubricant through the fill opening.
4. If necessary, a cleaning solvent can be injected to remove any contaminants.
5. Remove the cleaning solvent through the fill opening.

Caution: For limited slip, first add 118 ml (4 ounce) of friction modifier.

6. Refill the differential with axle lubricant meeting API Service GL-5 specification.
7. Install the fill plug and tighten.
