Power Brake Assist: Service and Repair

POWER BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Remove the brake master cylinder.
2. Compress the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose.





3. Disconnect the brake pedal to power brake booster push rod as shown in figure.
^ Remove the self-locking pin.
^ Remove the brake pedal position (BPP) switch and the brake booster push rod from the brake pedal pin.
^ Remove the brake booster push rod bushing.
4. Remove the bulkhead sound insulator.

Note: Support the power brake booster.





5. Remove the power brake booster
^ Remove the nuts.
^ Remove power brake unit.
6. Install in reverse order of removal.
