Disassembly/Assembly





1. Disassemble the reverse idler gear.
1) Remove the reverse idler gear snap ring.
2) Remove the spacer.
3) Remove the reverse idler gear and bushing.
4) Remove the reverse idler gear bearing.
5) Remove the reverse idler gear thrust washer.





2. Assemble the reverse idler gear in the reverse order of disassembly.





3. Measure the reverse idler gear end play. If end play is not within specification, install a snap ring of proper thickness.
