Torque Converter Leak Check

TORQUE CONVERTER LEAK CHECK
1. Clean the outside of the torque converter.





2. Install Converter Leak Check Tool 014-R1075 or equivalent and Gasket into converter hub.





3. Install torque converter with installed leak checktool into arborpress, hub down.

WARNING: Always follow proper safety procedures while using press

4. Secure press. Use press to apply enough force to seal tool into torque converter hub.

CAUTION: Use maximum 80 psi of dry, clean compressed air.





5. Apply air pressure to valve on leak check tool.
6. With air pressure applied, check for leaks at the studs, seams and pilot hub.





NOTE: Apply a water and soap solution to the torque converter to check for leaks.





7. Remove air hose, release air pressure from torque converter, then slowly release press.
8. Place torque converter in press, hub up.
