MONITOR CALIBRATION UPDATE

2001-2002 Truck (B2300) produced from 8-23-2000 to 10-04-2001

DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles in the above production range may have an OBD Evaporative Emission Monitor calibration with reduced capacity to detect some fuel vapor leaks such as a loose or disconnected fuel filler cap and may not illuminate the MIL as required by regulations. On all affected vehicles use WDS to reflash the PCM.

Before performing this repair, inform owners of this procedure and provide them with a written repair order that lists the specific service, part numbers and repairs.

REPAIR PROCEDURE





1. Using WDS (Version B22.2 or later), reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration. Use the table to confirm the correct calibration:

2. Install a new PCM calibration label with the revised calibration part number in the appropriate location under the hood of the vehicle.

3. Road test the vehicle to relearn KAM strategy.

4. Verify repair.
