Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
- To prevent refrigerant system contamination, If you are replacing an A/C compressor which has failed Internally, you must perform the following procedures:
- Perform the Refrigerant System Filtering after A/C compressor replacement general procedure.
- Replace the receiver/drier.
- Replace the evaporator core orifice.

1. Recover the refrigerant; refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM TESTS.




2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the A/C compressor and the A/C compressor pressure relief valve.
3. Remove the drive belt.




4. Remove the manifold retaining bolt.




5.Remove the bolts and remove the A/C compressor.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
1. Service the replacement A/C compressor with the proper amount refrigerant oil; refer to REFRIGERANT OIL ADDITION.
2. Lubricate the O-ring seals with refrigerant oil.
3. Apply pipe sealant to the threads of the A/C manifold retaining bolt.
