Front Engine Plate: Service and Repair

ENGINE FRONT COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the oil pan.
4. Remove the crankshaft pulley.





5. Disconnect the lower radiator hose.





6. Disconnect the heater hose.





7. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor connector.
8. Remove the belt tensioner.
9. Disconnect the generator.





10. Remove the bolts and generator mounting bracket.





11. Remove the A/C bracket-to-water pump brace.





12. Remove the two nuts and the wire harness retainer.
13. Remove the engine front cover nuts and bolts.
14. Remove the engine front cover.





15. Remove the engine front cover gasket.
16. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Engine Front Cover Installation Note
1. Clean all sealing surfaces.
2. Use a straight edge to align the engine front cover and the cylinder block at the oil pan mating surface.





3. Install the bolts.
