Transmission Insulator And Retainer

TRANSMISSION INSULATOR AND RETAINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Removal Note
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.

Note To maintain initial propeller shaft balance, mark the rear propeller shaft. yoke and axle flange so they may be installed in their original positions.





3. Mark the rear propeller shaft.
4. Remove the rear propeller shaft.





5. Remove the transmission mount nuts.





6. Raise and support the transmission.





7. Remove the transmission mount.
1. Remove the transmission mount-to-extension housing bolts.
2. Remove the transmission mount.

Installation Note





1. Install the transmission mount.
1. Position the transmission mount on the extension housing.
2. Install the transmission mount-to-extension housing bolts.





2. Install the transmission mount into the crossmember and tighten the transmission mount nuts.

Note Align the propeller shaft with the marks made during removal to ensure correct balance.





3. Align and install the rear propeller shaft.





4. Install the rear propeller shaft bolts.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Connect the battery ground cable.
7. Fill the transmission to proper fluid level. Check for proper transmission operation.
- Use Mazda ATF TYPE 5 fluid.
