Fuel Rail: Service and Repair
Removal Note1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel pressure.
3. Remove the upper intake manifold.
4. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.
5. Disconnect the fuel line using Disconnect Tool SST 49 UN01 051 or 49 UN01 052.
6. Remove the bolts and fuel rail.
Installation Note
CAUTION: Never use silicone grease. It will clog the fuel injectors. Make sure the injector end caps are clean and free of contamination.
1. Lubricate new O-rings with engine oil and install two on each injector.
2. Install the fuel rail.
1. Install the fuel injector.
2. Install the fuel rail.
3. Tighten the bolts.
4. Install the fuel injector connectors.
5. Install the upper intake manifold.
6. Install the cap on the fuel pressure relief valve.
