^ cratering-fatigue failure (1)
^ spot polishing-improper seating (2)
^ scratching dirty (3)
^ base exposed-poor lubrication (4)
^ both edges worn-journal damaged (5)
^ one edge worn-journal tapered or bearing not seated (6)
