EDIS Wiring Schematic:






EDIS ACRONYMS

PIP: Profile Ignition Pickup (EDIS output signal)

IDM: Ignition Diagnostic Monitor (diagnostic signal to EEC).

SAW: Spark Angle Word (EEC spark control signal).

IGND: Ignition Ground (low current ground reference).

VRS-: Variable Reluctance Sensor negative.

VRS+: Variable Reluctance Sensor positive.

VRS Shield: Variable Reluctance Sensor shield.

BAT+: Battery positive.

GND or BAT-: Battery negative.

VBAT: Ignition power to component.

C1,C2,C3: Coil drive for coils 1, 2 and 3.

KOEO: Key "ON" Engine "OFF."

KOEC: Key "ON" Engine Cranking.

HEGO: Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor.


OVERLAY DESIGNATORS

Signals on the schematic and overlays are identified along with a suffix letter designating where the measurement is being taken:

PREFIX "J": Breakout box jack.

SUFFIX "E": At the EDIS module.

SUFFIX "S": At the sensor.

SUFFIX "C": At the coil.

For example, "VBAT C" means VBAT at the coil and "VBAT E" means VBAT at the EDIS module.
