Engine Running Self-Test

TEST NOTES

1. If engine starts but stalls or stalls during Self-Test, refer to Pinpoint Test S1.
2. The brake pedal MUST be depressed and released AFTER the I.D. code is displayed.
3. The Dynamic Response code is a single pulse (code 10 on Super Star II tester) that occurs 6 - 20 seconds after the I.D. code. Refer to CODE OUTPUT FORMAT.
4. When the Dynamic Response code occurs, perform a brief wide open throttle (WOT). Do not depress the throttle unless this code is displayed.

NOTE: Some vehicles may not display a Dynamic Response code.

PERFORMING ENGINE RUNNING SELF-TEST

1. Deactivate KOEO Self-Test.
2. Start engine and run at 2000 rpm for two minutes to warm up the oxygen sensor.
3. Turn engine "OFF" and wait 10 seconds.
4. Activate Self-Test:
a. With Super Star II tester, latch center button in down position.
b. With analog voltmeter, jumper STI to SIG RTN at Self-Test connectors.
c. With "Check Engine" light, jumper STI to SIG RTN at Self-Test connectors.
5. Depress and release the brake pedal after I.D. code is displayed.
6. If a Dynamic Response code occurs, perform a brief WOT.
7. Record all service codes displayed.
