Continuous Monitor Mode (Wiggle Test)

Continuous Monitor Mode (Wiggle Test) is a method for attempting to recreate an intermittent fault.

KOEO WIGGLE TEST PROCEDURE

1. Hook up Super Star II tester or voltmeter as described in Quick Test step 2.0.
2. Turn ignition switch "ON."
3. Activate, wait 10 seconds, deactivate and reactivate Self-Test. Super Star II tester, voltmeter or "Check Engine" light may be used.
4. The vehicle is now in Continuous Monitor Mode.
5. Tap, move and wiggle the suspect sensor and/or harness. When a fault is detected, a Continuous Memory code will be stored in memory. This will be indicated as follows depending on the type of equipment being used:
a. Super Star II tester: Continuous tone.
b. Voltmeter: Needle sweep.
c. "Check Engine" light: Illuminates.
6. Refer to CONTINUOUS MEMORY SELF-TEST to determine which code(s) were stored in memory.

ENGINE RUNNING WIGGLE TEST PROCEDURE

1. Hook up Super Star II tester or voltmeter as described in Quick Test step 2.0.
2. Turn ignition "OFF," wait 10 seconds, then start engine.
3. Activate Self-Test, wait 10 seconds, deactivate and reactivate Self-Test. DO NOT shut engine "OFF."
4. The vehicle is now in Engine Running Continuous Monitor Mode.
5. Tap, move and wiggle the suspect sensor and/or harness. When a fault is detected, a Continuous Memory code will be stored in memory. This will be indicated as follows depending on the type of equipment being used:
a. Super Star II tester: Continuous tone.
b. Voltmeter: Needle sweep.
c. "Check Engine" light: Illuminates.
6. Refer to CONTINUOUS MEMORY SELF-TEST to determine which code(s) were stored in memory.
