Timing Cover: Service and Repair

1. Remove oil pan.
2. Drain cooling system, then remove radiator.
3. Remove A/C compressor and power steering bracket, if equipped.
4. Remove alternator and drive belts.
5. Remove fan, then the water pump, refer to WATER PUMP.
6. Remove drive pulley/damper assembly, from crankshaft.
7. Remove crankshaft timing sensor assembly.
8. Remove front cover attaching bolts and the cover. It may be necessary to lightly tap covers with a plastic hammer to break seal.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
