4 Wheel Drive

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then drain transmission oil.
3. Remove selector knob and shifter boot.
4. Disconnect speedometer cable and hi-lo cable.
5. Disconnect all electrical connectors from transmission.
6. Disconnect front propeller shaft.
7. Disconnect rear propeller shaft and suspend from frame with wire.
8. Remove starter motor, then the clutch slave cylinder.
9. Remove clutch housing undercover, then remove the exhaust pipe.
10. Remove exhaust heat insulator and the exhaust pipe bracket.
11. Remove front transmission support brackets.
12. Remove clutch to engine bolts.
13. Support transmission and remove upper and lower mounts.
14. Carefully remove transmission from vehicle.
15. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten to specifications and bleed clutch system.
