Cooling Unit Case

Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Discharge the refrigerant system.





3. Disconnect the discharge hose and suction pipe from the cooling unit.

Note: Immediately plug all open fittings to keep moisture out of the system.

4. Remove the grommet.
5. Remove the glove box and undercover.
6. Disconnect the thermoswitch connector.





7. Remove the nuts and the cooling unit.


Installation
- Install in the reverse order of removal, noting the following.

Note
^ Adjust and position the cooling unit so that its connections match those of the heater unit and the blower unit.
^ Apply the compressor oil to the 0-ring of the fittings.
^ Do not apply the compressor oil to the fitting nuts.
^ If the evaporator is replaced, add compressor oil to the compressor.

Compressor oil: 50.0 cm3 (3.05 cu.in)

Tightening torque
Discharge hose: 12.8-14.7 N.m (130-150 kgf.cm, 113-130 in.lbf)
Suction hose: 31-34 N.m (3.1-3.5 kgf.m, 23-25 ft.lbf)



Disassemble / Assembly





- Disassemble and assemble as shown in the figure.
