Fig. 15 Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Sequence:

1. Remove dirt or grease from cylinder head surface, then apply suitable sealant to the shaded area.
2. Install cylinder head gasket then set cylinder head in position.
3. Install cylinder head attaching bolts. Tighten large bolts in two or three steps to specifications, in sequence shown in Fig. 15.
4. Tighten remaining small cylinder head bolts to specifications.
