DESCRIPTION
Vibration of side view mirrors while driving at normal speed may be caused by loose mirror mounting screws. To correct this condition, lock washers have been installed on the screws.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the inside mirror garnish and mirror.
2. Remove the mirror base gasket to expose the mounting screws.





3. Remove mounting screws "A" from the mirror base (see illustration).
4. Install mounting screws "A" with lock washers. Torque mounting screws to 40 kg-cm (34 in.lbs.).

NOTE:
Obtain the lock washers from a local source. Refer to the illustration for washer dimensions.

5. Torque the mirror base screws "B" (see illustration) to 25 kg-cm (21 in.lbs.) and install the mirror base gasket and mirror.
6. Install inside garnish.
