DESCRIPTION

An inoperative interior lamp may be caused by a broken actuator rod in the door switch. Symptoms include an interior lamp that stays "on" or does not come "on" at all.

Switches with reinforced actuator rods have been included in vehicles produced since January 16, 1991 (see VIN below).

The actuator rod is not available as a service part. The switch assemblies must be replaced.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Replace the door switch according to Workshop Manual procedures in Section S.
