Vacuum Advance Control Solenoid: Description and Operation
Deceleration Control System:
^ The Coasting Advance Vacuum Solenoid Valve is part of the deceleration control system. On command from the ECU and depending on driving conditions, this valve applies or cuts manifold vacuum to the distributor vacuum control unit.
^ The valve is normally closed, blocking manifold vacuum to the distributor vacuum advance unit. During in-gear deceleration (engine speed between 1700 - 2500 rpm), the ECU energizes the valve to advance ignition timing.
