Idle/Altitude Compensator (Non Comp. Controlled): Testing and Inspection
AIR VALVERemoving BAC Valve:
1. Remove BAC valve from throttle body.
Checking Bypass Air Control Valve:
2. Blow air through valve from port "A" and check that air comes out of port "B" when BAC valve is cold.
3. Place BAC valve into hot water (more than 80°C [176°F]) for one minute.
4. Blow air through valve from port "A" and check that no air comes out of port "B".
5. If not as described, replace valve.
SOLENOID VALVE (ISC)
Checking Idle Speed Control (ISC) Valve Resistance:
1. Disconnect solenoid valve (ISC) connector.
2. Connect an ohmmeter to solenoid valve terminals.
3. Check resistance. It should be 7.7-9.3 Ohms (at 23°C [73°F]).
4. If not as specified, replace valve.
Installing BAC Valve:
INSTALLATION NOTE: When installing bypass air control valve, always use new gasket and O-ring.
