Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Description and Operation

Vacuum Sensor:

^ The Vacuum Sensor detects changes in intake manifold vacuum under various operating conditions.
^ Changes are converted to an electrical signal monitored by the ECU as an input related to engine load. With the engine not running (atmospheric pressure), the signal is approximately 4V. At idle (high vacuum), the signal is approximately 1.3V.
