To reset malfunction warning lamp at 60,000 miles, change the connection of the connectors, Figs. 3 and 4. Reverse the connection again at 80,000 miles.

This lamp indicates a problem in the Engine Control System. After making necessary diagnosis and repairs, trouble codes stored in the Emission Control Unit (ECU) can be erased by disconnecting the battery ground cable for a minimum of 5 seconds.
