Manual Transmission/Transaxle: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then drain transmission fluid.
3. Remove console box, then the gear shift lever.
4. Remove propeller shaft.
5. Disconnect speedometer cable, then all transmission electrical connectors.
6. Remove parking brake cable return springs, then the parking brake cables.
7. Remove clutch release cylinder, then the transmission gusset plate.
8. Remove exhaust pipe, then the starter motor.
9. Position suitable jack under transmission, then remove transmission crossmember.
10. Remove engine to transmission attaching bolts, then lower transmission from vehicle.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
