Air Injection Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve: Testing and Inspection
Inspecting Signal
1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature, then stop engine.
2. Connect connectors of water temperature switch with a jumper wire.
3. Connect voltmeter between Y terminal of ACV solenoid valve and ground.
4. Ensure voltmeter indicates zero volts at approximately 1500 RPM or higher. If not, check 2J terminal of emission control unit.
Fig. 8 Testing ACV Solenoid Valve.:
1. Remove ACV solenoid valve.
2. Connect hoses to valve as shown in Fig. 8.
3. Blow air through Hose A and ensure air flows from valve air filter.
4. Apply battery power and ground valve with jumper wires.
5. Blow through hose A and ensure air flows from port B.
6. If ACV solenoid valve does not operate properly, replace it.
