AVAILABILITY OF CARBURETOR AIR/FUEL SOLENOID
DESCRIPTION
The air/fuel solenoid installed in the carburetor's air horn is now available as a separate part.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
The following outlines the air/fuel solenoid installation:
1. Remove the air horn assembly from the carburetor according to the applicable Workshop Manual procedures.
2. Cut the coupler off the old air/fuel solenoid wire and discard it.
3. Remove the screws which hold the air/fuel solenoid to the air horn. Pull out the solenoid and discard it.
4. Apply an ample amount of clean gasoline to the O-ring on the new solenoid.
5. Insert the 2 wires of the new solenoid through the hole in the air horn. Install the solenoid using the two screws.
6. Insert the seal rubber through the 2 wires of the solenoid. The smooth surface of the seal rubber should face the screws. Refer to illustration.
7. Attach the 2 metal terminals to the 2 solenoid wires. Refer to illustration.
8. Attach the 2 solenoid wires (w/ metal terminals) to the plastic connector. Refer to illustration.
9. Move the seal rubber until it seals the plastic connector. The grooved surface of the seal rubber should face the plastic connector.
10. Assemble the carburetor in the reverse order of disassembly.
11. Adjust the engine's idling accordingly.
