Engine Replace


1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain engine oil and coolant.
3. Remove air cleaner assembly and oil dipstick.
4. Remove cooling fan and radiator cowling.
5. Disconnect accelerator cable, then the cruise control cable, if equipped.
6. Disconnect and cap fuel hose.
7. Disconnect heater and brake vacuum hoses.
8. Remove three-way solenoid valves and vacuum sensor assembly. Do not disconnect vacuum lines.
9. Remove duty solenoid valve assembly. Do not disconnect vacuum lines.
10. Remove vacuum switch. Do not disconnect vacuum lines.
11. Disconnect and cap carbon canister lines.
12. Disconnect engine harness coupler and engine ground.
13. Disconnect upper and lower radiator hoses.
14. Remove radiator assembly.
15. Remove secondary air pipe assembly.
16. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
17. Remove A/C compressor and position aside, if equipped.
18. Remove power steering pump, if equipped.
19. Remove starter motor, gusset plates and rear under cover.
20. Position a suitable jack under transmission assembly, then remove engine to transmission attaching bolts.
21. Remove engine mount nuts, then the engine from vehicle.
22. Reverse procedure to install.
