Stabilizer Bar Bushing

Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect the performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result in major service expense. A new part with the same part number must be installed if installation is necessary. Do not use a new part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of these parts.

NOTE: Do not apply grease or petroleum-based lubricants to the stabilizer bar bushings.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.





2. Using suitable jack stands, support the subframe. Remove the subframe forward bolts and lower the front of the subframe approximately 37 mm (1.48 inch).
3. Remove the stabilizer bar bracket flag nuts, bolts and brackets.
^ To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).

4. Remove the stabilizer bar bushing(s).
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
