Power Steering Fluid Cooler

Removal and Installation

CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power steering components can result.

1. Remove the air conditioning condenser.
2. Remove and discard the 4 hose clamps.
3. Remove the steering gear-to-cooler hose.
^ Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

4. Remove the cooler-to-reservoir return hose.
5. Remove the lower transmission cooler line.
^ Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

6. Remove the upper transmission cooler line.
7. Remove the 2 bolts and the power steering fluid cooler.

Installation
1. Install the power steering fluid cooler and the 2 bolts.
^ Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

2. Install the hose clamp and the upper transmission cooler line.
3. Install the hose clamp and the lower transmission cooler line.
4. Install the hose clamp and the cooler-to-reservoir return hose.
5. Install the hose clamp and the steering gear-to-cooler hose.





6. Using the special tool, tighten the 4 hose clamps.
7. Fill the power steering system.
