Child Safety Seat Tether Anchor - Lower Anchors And Tethers For Children (LATCH):

Removal and Installation

WARNING: All safety belt assemblies including retractors, buckles, front seat belt buckle support assemblies (slide bar), shoulder belt height adjusters (if so equipped), child safety seat tether attachments and attaching hardware should be inspected after any collision. All belt assemblies should be installed new unless a qualified technician finds the assemblies show no damage and operate properly. Belt assemblies not in use during a collision should also be inspected and installed new if either damage or improper operation is noted.

NOTE: Sealant must be applied to the tether anchor bolts when installed.

1. Remove the rear seat bolsters.
2. Remove the rear seat backrest and position aside the carpet.
3. Remove the pin-type retainers and the finish panel.
4. Remove the lower anchors and tethers for children (LATCH) bracket bolts and LATCH bracket.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

5. Remove the LATCH bolts and the LATCH.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
