Rear Door Window Glass: Service and Repair

Heavy Duty Riveter:






SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL
1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Doors
2. Remove the radio speaker and the watershield.







3. Remove the inside weatherstrip.







4. Remove the bolt.







5. Remove the rivets.

CAUTION: Prior to removing the rivet center pins, a suitable block support should be inserted between the door outer panel and the glass to stabilize the glass during the rivet pin removal. Use a 1/4-inch diameter drill to drill out the remainder of the rivet, using care not to enlarge the sheet metal holes or damage the plastic retainer and spacer.

6. Lift the rear door window glass up through the opening and remove it from the door.

INSTALLATION







1. Install the door window glass bracket spacers and the retainers to the rear door window glass.

NOTE: Two 1/4-20 x 1 inch bolts and two 1/4 20 nut and washer assemblies may be used as alternate fasteners for the rear door window glass retention.

2. Install the rear door window glass into the door.







3. Install the rivets using the heavy-duty riveter.







4. Install the weatherstrip.







5. Install the bolt.
6. Install the rear door trim panel.
