16. Position a drain pan under the transaxle side pan.
17. Remove the bolts and remove the transaxle side pan and gasket.
18. CAUTION: Do not pull on the wires or the electrical connectors. Damage to the connectors will result.
Lift the locking tab and disconnect the electrical connectors.
19. Position the transaxle wiring harness out of the way.
20. CAUTION: Do not remove the two bolts that hold the pump assembly and main control valve body together as the pump assembly may fall from the main control valve body.
CAUTION: Only 4 of the 6 pump cover bolts need to be removed.
Remove the bolts.
21. Disconnect the manual linkage.
22. Remove the main pump assembly and the main control valve body by carefully sliding it off the pump shaft.
Installation
1. Install pump assembly and main control valve body onto the pump shaft.
2. NOTE: The anti-lock brake hydraulic modulator will not allow sufficient clearance to rotate the main control valve body. The manual valve will need to be removed from the main control valve body and then reinstalled to properly install the main control valve body. Rotate the crankshaft to obtain the correct engagement of the pump and the pump shaft.
Rotate the pump assembly and main control valve body to connect the manual valve link with the manual valve.
3. CAUTION: Do not use the bolts to draw pump assembly and main control valve body onto the chain cover case. Component damage may occur.
Use the valve body guide pins to install the pump assembly and main control valve body. Install retaining bolt and tighten in sequence.
4. Install the transaxle wire harness the retaining clip into the separator plate.
5. Connect the electrical connectors.
6. NOTE: The transaxle side cover gasket is reusable if not torn or ripped.
Install the side cover, gasket and bolts.
7. Install the LH transaxle support and insulator.
8. Install the LH front fender splash shield.
1 Install the front fender splash shield.
