Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the radiator upper sight shield.
2. Recover the refrigerant.
3. Remove the screws and reposition the windshield washer fluid reservoir filler.
4. Remove the screws and remove the RH fender support brace.
5. Remove the screws and reposition the power steering fluid reservoir.
6. Remove the air suspension air compressor and drier assembly.
7. Remove the screw from the wrap-around clip on the evaporator to compressor suction line.
8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C cycling switch.
9. Disconnect the evaporator to compressor suction line spring lock coupling from the suction accumulator/drier.
10. Remove the screw and the nut and reposition the degas bottle.
11. Remove the nut from the A/C hose support bracket.
12. Remove the nut from the A/C accumulator tube support clip.
13. Loosen the screw and lift the suction accumulator/drier out of the A/C accumulator bracket.
14. Disconnect the evaporator to accumulator tube spring lock coupling from the suction accumulator/drier.
15. Remove the A/C cycling switch.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of PAG compressor oil, YN-12c, F7AZ-19589-DA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
- Lubricate the O-ring seal with PAG compressor oil, YN-12c, F7AZ-19589-DA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
