Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair

Special Tools:

Removal
1. Remove the valve cover.
2. Position the piston of the cylinder being serviced at the bottom of the stroke and camshaft lobe at base circle.





3. Position the Valve Spring Compressor under the camshaft and on top of the valve spring retainer on the intake side.





4. Position the valve spring compressor under the camshaft and on top of the valve spring retainer on the exhaust side.





5. Remove the roller followers from the intake and exhaust sides.
1 Compress the Valve Spring Compressor.
2 Remove the roller followers.
6. Repeat Steps 2, 3, and 4 to remove all the necessary roller followers.

Installation
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
